Know Before You Go
Fishing Spots allows you to create a tailored search for your perfect body of water. Filter lakes based on your criteria with 30+ fish species to choose from along with detailed boat ramp and access & amenities information. Get need-to-know details such as whether or not the ramp is carry-in, trailer accessible, paved, gravel or natural. Plan your day by knowing whether the lake has restrooms, a boat dock, trailer parking, and more.

Knowing what fish species are in the lake or waterbody you intend to fish will be crucial to your game plan. Having this information prior to hitting the water will allow you to pack accordingly with the appropriate rods and terminal tackle to get the job done.

In App
- Open the onX Fish: Minnesota App on your mobile device.
- Tap “Fishing Spots” in the bottom toolbar.
- Tap “Water & Fish Filters” in the top right corner.
- Select criteria from the drop-down menus for fish species, boat launch, surface type, and access & amenities to see results that match those selections.
- Select “Done.”
- View and scroll the search results based on your criteria including the name of the lake and a thumbnail image of the lake outline .
- Tap on a lake to snap to it on the map and view the detailed lake query card information including overview, fish species, water access, weather, and regulations.
On Desktop
- Login to your account on webmap.onxmaps.com/fish/login.
- Click “Fishing Spots” in the top left toolbar.
- Click “Filters” to the right of the search bar.
- Select criteria from the drop-down menus for fish species, boat launch, surface type, and access & amenities to see results that match those selections.
- Select “Done.”
- View and scroll the search results based on your criteria including the name of the lake and a thumbnail image of the lake outline .
- Click on a lake to snap to it on the map and view the detailed lake query card information including overview, fish species, water access, weather, and regulations.
