In the Nevada desert, water means life or death. To help improve the survival of desert species, the Nevada Department of Wildlife has installed multiple water tanks, called guzzlers, in areas where there is not enough water to support wildlife without supplemental water sources. These guzzlers collect rainwater and snow melt while storing it for the use of big game and smaller species. To date, over 1,600 guzzlers have been installed throughout the state.
