Known For

For as small as Rhode Island is there is plenty of whitetail deer to pursue. Hunters here can also go after turkey, waterfowl, and stocked pheasants.

Terrain

Rhode Island’s terrain is mostly gently rolling hills, with some heavier forestlands in the northwest corner of the state. Toward the coastline are lowlands, sandy beaches, and sporadic lakes and ponds.

Rhode Island Licenses, Permits, and Regulations

Rhode Island hunting licenses, permits, and regulations for resident and non-resident hunters can be purchased on the Rhode Island Department of Environmental Management website. Click below to view the website.

Hunting GPS Maps

Every Rhode Island hunter should have hunting GPS maps on hand. Rhode Island hunting maps are available from onX Hunt. Hunting Zones

There are four different hunting zones in Rhode Island, and they each designate how many antlerless deer can be taken in each zone. Statewide, hunters can harvest up to two antlered deer (only one in Zone 3 however), and in Zone 4 a hunter can take an unlimited number of antlerless deer.
