Brown Mountain is a short, but fun, Jeep trail that can be done in a couple of hours. The easy trip up through the trees ends in the alpine at 12,000'. There are a few short trails you can explore. Part way up you come to the Silver Mountain Mine. There are a couple of buildings remaining, as well as an air compressor, gasoline engine, and a jaw crusher. A nice lake at the timberline and great views of Red Mountain and Gray Copper Gulch from the alpine area.

Easy trail that is pretty steep recommend 4 Lo for gearing and braking. From top to bottom took around 2 hrs. Cool creek crossing at the entrance to the trail all in all it is fun.
