Trail Overview

Chicken Creek is a fun trail that goes through beautiful aspen groves in the San Juan National Forest near Mancos, Colorado. The trail is a decent width with gradual curves and gradual switchbacks, making it more of an easy-to-intermediate trail that isn't too challenging. The trail has lots of roots and rocks, but no major obstacles. It is a fun moderate challenge for intermediate riders. The trail is short, 2.1 miles, and mostly flat with little elevation gain or loss. The trail is pretty shaded in the trees, and can likely have some mud and moisture in the summer. The hardest part about the trail is a few tight turns, and boulders embedded throughout the trail.
