The National Wild Turkey Federation (NWTF) takes you into the field—and beyond—with its #BeyondtheStrut video series.
Here at onX, we’re always keen to partner with organizations doing good work for conservation, the hunting industry and the things we all love. This spring, NWTF launched a new series of short films, #BeyondtheStrut. This four-part series covers a 22-day road trip canvassing more than 5,750 miles throughout the West. Follow along as the team hunts in Montana, California, Arizona, and New Mexico, showcasing a series of NWTF conservation projects and hunting some of the most storied turkey country in the American West.
New Mexico: This week for #BeyondtheStrut, onX Hunt’s own Dylan Dowson joins the NWTF team and offers up a variety of onX Hunt App tips while hunting New Mexico’s Zuni Mountains and the Cibolo National Forest. You’ll also see NWTF’s largest stewardship project with the U.S. Forest Service, the BlueWater Project.
Dylan recently chatted with Sportsmen’s Nation about this hunt. Listen to the podcast to learn more about what the team got up to in New Mexico.
Montana: Wounded veterans Jim Sursley, Army, and Dominic Davila, Marines, may have served their country in different eras, but they share a bond of service to their country. NWTF staff and volunteers come together to ensure Sursley and Davila also share a Merriam’s turkey hunt neither will forget.
California: This week’s episode of #BeyondtheStrut takes us to California where the NWTF’s conservation efforts on Eldorado National Forest are making positive gains to combat future large-scale forest fires.
Arizona: Apache-Sitgreaves National Forests were hit hard by two of the largest fires ever to occur in Arizona. But wildlife is rebounding thanks to stewardship work between the NWTF and the U.S. Forest Service. Also, state volunteers talk about the impact of fostering hunting in the next generation and a bow hunt on public land.
