Trail Overview
This short little trail (1 mile) goes into a secluded, quiet part of the Deerlodge National Forest where most people don't go. It's about a 10-minute trail. It offers beautiful tent camping and picnic locations. There is nothing challenging about the trail...except finding the trail in places. It's so seldomly used that you have to find it in certain spots. From Highway 69 in Boulder, MT, take Whitetail Road (399) toward Whitehall. Go west on State Creek Road, and at the first Y in the road, take the left branch onto Hay Creek Trail. Follow Hay Creek Trail around to this location. There is a plethora of trails in this area, so be sure to carry extra fuel and spend the day.
