Trail Overview
USFSR #500K is the last trail that spurs off the primary road going in and out of the Shoal Creek Ranger District portion of the Talladega National Forest. This Northernmost trail is outside the Choccolocco Wildlife Management Area but is part of the beautiful Dugger Mountain Wilderness. It is a popular spot for hunters as the trail winds back almost 4.5 miles and is closed most of the year - only open during hunting season. It is an easy gravel trail with beautiful valleys on each side but normally has small brush and grass growing up in the middle of the trail.
