Stampede Pass - Crystal Springs to Greenwater

Trail Overview

Crossing the Snoqualmie National Forest and private Weyerhaeuser land from I-90 to WA-410 is an easy and fun adventure. This route is closed in the winter due to snow. The route is mostly gravel and dirt, following a series of Forest Service roads and trails. The first and last few miles have a lot of potholes due to all the traffic, but once you get in far enough, you'll likely have the route to yourself. At about 18 miles in (starting from the I-90 side), you'll start to steadily climb about 3000'. This part of the route is a narrow ledge road, with occasional spots for others to pass. The views from this point on are the best of the route, looking over many valleys with amazing views of Mt Rainer. There are plenty of spots to stop for lunch or to camp overnight.
