Trail Overview
Heart Creek Trail is a pivotal trail that gives access to more than 20 trails within the Cadillac Forest Management Unit. Most of the trail consists of gravel, sand, and dirt. Like most Michigan trails, conditions are dependent on the weather. Recent rainfall can cause downed trees, washouts, & mud holes. Most of this trail is an easy gravel single-wide trail until it intersects Filer Creek. Here, you can either turn back around, or you can drop down into and across the creek to continue on for more adventures. Coming from the east, after you cross the creek, it's a bit tight with trees to navigate the trail out, but it's obvious where the trail goes up and over the hill, back to the main trail. Use this route to lead you to some amazing campsites along the Manistee River. Use caution heading down this trail, as there are a lot of logging operations taking place. You won't regret taking this track!

Difficulty
This was only given a Technical Rating & Difficulty of 3 due to the trail typically only being wide enough for 1 to 2 vehicles and the shallow creek crossing. Otherwise, this trail could be rated as a 1.
