USFSR #512A

Trail Overview

USFSR #512A is a seasonally open trail that gives the right of way to private hunting land in the first section. USFSR #51A begins off USFSR #512 and rides along North Shinbone Ridge, just outside the small community of Shinbone Valley. This trail is part of a seasonal payment unit that is often clear cut, causing wash outs, silt like mud holes that seem hard packed, but act like quick sand when crossing them.

This trail is unmaintained year around so trails conditions change constantly, paired with heavy equipment traveling for hardwood cutovers, can be problematic to the ones unfamiliar with 4WD vehicles or with unsuitable tires.
