Trail Overview
This track starts at the north end of Lower Dune Road and West Frontage Road. The sandy whoops are easy and fun. This area can be crowded at peak times/seasons, so be aware of others. It's not unusual to see cattle grazing around this area during the winter months. When you turn uphill to go to the West Rim, you do some rock crawling. "The Steps" include slick rock formations with steps as high as 3 feet. There are tire marks on the rocks to show the path. There is room to pull over and let another vehicle by if you meet someone coming down "The Steps." You encounter some of the really cool rock formations at "The Funnel." The views are spectacular in every direction. This is easy rock crawling if you have at least 32" tires and low gear. On the south end, this track connects to the West Rim at the trailhead. Starting Feb 2023, Utah began enforcement of its new law, which requires an online education course for all off-roaders. The free course is available online. Google "Utah OHV Education Course," and the free test will appear. It's an easy test that will only take 15-30 minutes, and it's required for all off-roaders, Jeeps, SXSs, dirt bikes, and ATVs. Kids under 18 must take the Youth Education Test at the same site. After completing the test, print out the certificate to carry with you, which shows you completed the course. We have taken it, and it's no big deal--good reminders about trail etiquette and preservation.

Difficulty
If you're new to rock crawling, following someone through here might be helpful, but it's not a technical route. Following the tire tracks on the rocks will help guide you if you're new to the area. If it's raining, this will be slick and more difficult to climb, but not impossible.
