Trail Overview

Texas Creek trail is one of many trails in the massive area of Taylor Park. Taylor Park is completely open and very friendly to ATV/SXS riding which makes this an amazing weekend destination. Texas Creek is open for dispersed camping from start to finish. The first three miles of Texas Creek are very convenient for trailer camping with multiple vehicles. Around four miles in the trail becomes more difficult and not passable for trailers. The first four miles are connected to a vast network of side trails and one river crossing to another side trail. The last 4.5 miles follow Texas Creek up to Texas Lakes and some excellent dispersed camping with amazing views. At this point the trail becomes more difficult with tight switchbacks, rocks over 12 inches, and possible deep mud bugs during runoff or heavy rains. Great fishing out of Texas Lakes. Beware of Moose in the area.

it doesn't have much elevation gain, and is mostly a muddy dirt road with large rocks some bigger than bowlingballs, so it is very rough and bumpy but not difficult, any stock 4x4 vehicle could manage it. Having AT or MT tires is recommend, highway tires would not be good and could be damaged.
