Trail Overview

This is a fun twisty 4x4 trail through the trees running from the beginning of the Madison Arm trail off highway 20 and linking back up with the Madison Arm Trail near some seasonal forest service cabins on Stoddard Point. This trail can get pretty muddy and has lots of significant dips and puddles that take up the entire width of the trail. A few other trails off this one also run out into the trees. There are no dispersed campsites, and the narrow trail has few pull-offs for vehicles to pass. This is mostly just a fun jaunt in a smaller vehicle such as a motorcycle, ATV, or SXS. Larger 4x4s will find this trail slower from all the ruts. There are a few bars of LTE cell service out here.

There is nothing about this trail that qualifies as a 4 of 10. It’s just a day use trail that any truck could do. 1 of 10 for difficulty in dry conditions. There is no water passage. If it rained a bunch it would be muddy but as of today there was zero ruts to deal with.

I don’t know who ranked this as a 4 for technical difficulty but it’s definitely not. It is a smooth easy wide single lane trail. You could easily navigate this trail with a Kia soul and have no issues. I’d call it a 1 technical difficulty at worst.
