Trail Overview

Uneven, rutted dirt trail with loose rocks and sand. Muddy conditions should be expected during the rainy season. The trail is primarily one vehicle wide with some portions wide enough for passing oncoming traffic. Steep cliffs and drop-offs are common throughout the trail, as well as sharp winding curves. Caution should be taken to avoid oncoming traffic.

This trail can be generally considered an easy route however, due to blind curves, steep cliffs and weather impacts to the trail should be attempted with caution and consideration for others on the trail.

Easy trail, no 4wd needed. A little traffic but plenty of pull outs for passing. Single lane shelf sections are short. Certainly recommend for the beginner offroader. Unfortunately views were obscured by a low atmospheric ceiling on this day. An hour or so of off and on rain.

Great views and beautiful weather. Airing down helps for a smoother ride. No major obstacles, pretty easy trail. Went on a Sunday and was surprised there weren't a lot of other folks out there.

Access Description

To access the trail head, take Highway 74 to Pyramid Peak road. From there you will make a short drive through a residential area until the road end at Hop Patch Spring Road. Turn left and drive until you hit the trail head.
