Trail Overview
This route is an easier alternative to the main Lochloosa WCA Trail. Note that this trail is only accessible to street-legal licensed vehicles. This trail is mainly hard-packed gravel with some sections of sand, but no deep sand. There is one shallow water crossing in this route that is under 6 inches deep and less than 15 feet across but may be higher following heavy rainfall. The water crossing is gravel-bottomed and lined with paver stones, so getting stuck should be a non-issue even for street tires. The trail is single-car width, flat, and has very little chance of tree branch scratching to your vehicle. The scenery varies from tall pine forests to grassy fields, with very little natural shade provided along the route.
