Trail Overview
The Overlook Trail is a 3-mile ATV Trail in Rampart Range that goes north from Forest Service Road 507 to connect back to Rampart Range Road. The southern end of the trail is really wide open, like a dirt highway through a pine tree forest. There's nothing hard on this trail except for a few more rutted sections. It's gravelly and sandy at times. The north end is a bit more troughed, but conditions can often change in this forest based on snow and rain. It steadily descends to the bottom of the forest floor, and then it steadily climbs back up. The overlook is a wide-open view of the mountain range. There's a 0.5-mile-long cutoff trail near the north end that will avoid about 0.5 miles of very windy curvy trail and get you to the north trailhead faster. This trail is also how you access the Fern Singletrack, which is a more technical single track that makes a loop with the Overlook ATV Trail.
