Trail Overview

The easiest way to do this trail may be to take it from west to east. A GPS is handy, as it can be confusing to navigate the route. Another route option is to start through Cumberland Gulch. Open all year.

Starting from the trail head it’s just an easy dirt road, once you actually hit 175.1 FSR it’s a different ball game, it was not hard to do in a SxS ( jeep would be different) it’s VERY rocky on 175.1 nothing a SxS can’t handle, just pick your lines and just pay attention. There is one section that’s a bit technical. It’s the junction for 175.1 and 175.3I there are some big boulders on the left side of trail ( going up ) you can pass on the right side of trail but it’s still technical but not as bad, that was the only part that was a little sketchy. But if you go slow you will be fine. Just pick your lines. We did NOT do 175.3H that’s the very top of yankee hill ( we had kids with us ) but the summit was still very nice with good views. 11,000ft going down seams more steep then going up, but not terrible! overall would definitely do this again. Had a great time!

the trail is technical but able to do solo as long as you pay attention to what you're doing. I ended up hitting a sizable rock on the can of my trunk under the passenger door by getting complacent. If you pay attention you should be fine.
