Trail Overview
The Francis Marion National Forest is located north of Charleston, South Carolina. It is named for revolutionary war hero Francis Marion, who was known to the British as the Swamp Fox. It lies entirely within the Middle Atlantic coastal forests ecoregion. The park is also entirely in the Subtropical coniferous forest. This trail is one of the main routes off Highway 17 into Francis Marion National Forest. This trail is part of a multitude of interconnecting trails through the National Forest. This route ends at the Honey Hill Recreation Area. Camping is primitive and permitted in designated areas for a maximum of 14 consecutive days.
