Trail Overview
It's not actually 7 miles, but the road winds along the Salmon River. Lots of potholes and no apparent places to camp. There are plenty of pullouts to pass oncoming traffic, and the trail ends at a locked gate with foot access from there. The beginning of the trail is two nice fishing ponds with beautiful views of the surrounding mountains. We saw otters playing in one of the ponds. There is plenty of wildlife to view and fishing with a permit. No cell service.
