Trail Overview
This is a short ATV trail accessed off of Bean Ranch Road in the trail system near Whitewater, Colorado. The trail takes you out to an overlook of the Gunnison River and a red rock canyon way far below you from the rim of the mesa. It's a pretty wide trail, almost road width, with wide sweeping turns with small loose rock on the surface. It has a couple very small rock ledges that are very easy, as well as easy descents and hill, climbs. This trail would be very easy for dirt bikes or 50" vehicles. There are tons of viewpoints to stop at throughout the trail to take in the view of the river canyon. The views looking back the other direction towards the Grand Mesa are also fantastic, especially in spring when the Mesa is still covered in snow, which contrasts with the red rock of the Mesa you are on. This is a fun and scenic trail, and can be ridden as part of a larger loop in the area with ATV trails 89, 90, 92, and 85, among other jeep roads.
