Quilomene Ridge Road Part 2

Actual Trip date 2/4/23 Weather changes parts of the trail adding substantial ice to the path, that requires a redirect or skilled driving. Conditions change often depending on the area weather. This trail starts off with an aggressive climb, before semi-leveling out on top, the initial climb and final descents are where we often encounter ice. This trail, although only 24 miles is an all day event in winter, so bring high clearance locked and loaded rigs, 37” tires seem to be the minimum choice, have extra clothing, food, camping & recovery gear, etc, in the event your stay becomes an overnight adventure.

We have rescued people off of this trail including leading a group of 7 vehicles off the mountain we had passed on our way up the mountain on an out and back trip we did (not the full route - we only ran the eastern most route to the stub and back), finding them in the same place we passed them a few hours later.
