Trail Overview
This is an easy trail off New Mexico Highway 64 to the Hill Road Pueblito, an archeological site constructed in the late 1730s and early 1740s. Hill Road Pueblito sits on a boulder outcrop overlooking Carrizo Canyon to the north. This site consists of a pueblito with four rooms and a possible hogan. There are close to 100 Pueblitos in the area. Pueblitos is the Spanish word for "small villages." Many of these small villages are constructed on top of the sandstone boulders. They are almost inconspicuous and blend into the landscape.

Difficulty
The road is easy. There is oil and gas drilling in the area and the white trucks drive fast on the roads. They all have warning flags on them.
History
The Pueblitos were built by the Navajo in the 17th and 18th centuries. The Spanish and other Native Americans were not friendly to the Navajo. The Pueblitos was built to be highly defensible as they are perched high on the rocks or under an overhang of a cliff.
