Trail Overview
The first part of this FSR that takes you out to the Bouleau Lake Rec Site was completed by Scaia Offroad and he was turned around by snow. I went out at the beginning of June and was able to get a little further but was turned around at a 2nd landslide. The first part of the road is fairly basic but rockier than gravel. This area was engulfed in the 2021 White Lake fire that burned more than 80,000 hectares. The area was scorched and looked nothing like it did before which was a beautiful valley with a creek. The first obstacle is a smaller landslide that can be easily crossed heading west. Coming back is a little tougher as you do need to climb up a 2-3' ledge so high clearance and 4wd is needed. After this slide, there are many many deep cross ditches. This road is very different than it was before the fire. I turned around at the 2nd slide as it was much larger and while I think it can carefully be crossed, I chose to play it safe as I was by myself.
