Trail Overview
This fun single-lane trail starts at Princeton-Summerland Road and leads down to the Crump Siding Recreation Site on Trout Creek. Initially, the trail meanders through the sprawling Crump Recreation Site before descending toward Trout Creek. Along the way, you'll navigate several tight turns and encounter plenty of loose rocks (12-18 inches in size) to either avoid or climb over. Be mindful of a couple of off-camber sections where dirt bike trails cross your path. The trail's many curves offer multiple viewpoints of the beautiful valley you're heading into. Near the trail's end, you'll cross the historic Kettle Valley Railway Trail (motor vehicles are prohibited). After crossing the KVR, you'll begin to see and hear Trout Creek, which flows quite heavily in the spring. There are several spots along the creek suitable for camping, though they lack picnic tables and fire pits. However, pit toilets are available, so be sure to bring your own toilet paper. At one of the campsites, there appears to be a creek crossing, but it is too deep and swift to navigate in early spring. Cell service is quite limited, and you might not encounter other vehicles, though this could change later in the season.
