Trail Overview

Penrose Commons OHV Trail# 6102 is the main trail that connects other trails in the area. Enjoy panoramic views including the Sangre De Cristo Mountain Range. The trail traverses through Pinon and Juniper Trees as well as the occasional deer sighting. There are a couple of steep ledges up to 12"-18" in some areas. There are narrow sections with tree branches that risk some light pin-striping. Penrose Commons offers dispersed camping, vault toilets, decent cell service, and a spacious staging area at the trailhead. The trails are also used for ATVs, dirt bikes, and horseback riding. It's open year-round but is subject to closure during wet weather conditions.

Nice easier trail to get out and enjoy the day. Nothing a stock 4x4 couldn't handle. There are some narrow spots that could cause some light pinstrips depending on the size of your vehicle thanks to the trees. Today I was in my SxS but next trip I plan to bring the Bronco out. Trails do close during wet and muddy conditions but as of today it is dry and dusty.

Lots of exposed rock and lots of fun, plenty of pull offs all along the trails and amazing views
