Forest Service Road 6290 is a unique trail that offers wonderful views of the tall red pine and hardwood trees. The trail encounters a few mud and water holes that can get deep and rutted out, especially during or after inclement weather. Regardless of the conditions, this is a great trail to tackle. Whether you're using this trail for off-road use, accessing hunting, or just being in the great outdoors, you really can't go wrong with NFS 6290. At the end of this route, you'll come across the Big South Branch Pere Marquette River, where you'll be delighted with dispersed campsites. If you choose to use these for yourself, leave them better than you found them. Enjoy a hidden gem for a Lower Mitten Michigan trail.

Difficulty
