Trail Overview

BLM Route 90 is a short ATV trail within the trail system located off of Bean Ranch Road. It branches off of ATV Route 89 at both ends. From the north entrance to the trail, it leaves Route 89 with a small hill climb and a small rocky ledge at the top of the hill climb, already making it more interesting than trail 89. It goes through a wide grassy meadow through the sage brush and continues as a wide dirt trail with some loose rock on the surface and wide sweeping turns. There are a couple spots of small rock ledges, but they shouldn't be a problem for an ATV or 50" vehicle. There is also some flat slab rock, and it winds through the pinyon pine. In the beginning it quickly meets up with a another trail where the 90A connector is to the left, and this trail stays right. There is a small ravine crossing before the trail goes through an open fence and turns left. This left turn is unmarked, so it's helpful to have a GPS track to follow this exact route. This is a great area to just explore without having to stick to an exact route, since it is a smaller trail system, and most of the ATV trails run the same direction between Bean Ranch Road and the top of the mesa. There are several ATV trails and roads to play around on, and they often meet back up at central intersections that make it easy to know where you are and which direction to go. It's a scenic area to visit for a half day ride or a quick day trip to do some easy exploring.
