Trail Overview
Danskin #512 is a ridge line single track in the Boise National Forest. It's on a wider ridge line atop a series of rolling green hills, and the trail itself is a decently wide single track, thus the exposure is not too bad. It goes along a fence line for much of it, with wide open views and not many trees. This trail would be very hot and dusty in summer with no shade. The trail has several steep sections going up and down the rolling mountain range with some embedded surface rock in the surface of the trail. It has a bit of rut and erosion straight down the trail, but not too bad. The trail goes past several really cool granite rock formations on the side of the trail, like big pointy rock spires, with beautiful wildflowers in spring. There isn't much rock in the actual trail and no significant obstacles. This trail is fun because it's fast and flowy with great views of the Danskin Mountains, but it does have lots of whoops that make for a good workout. The north end is at ATV Trail 300.
