Trail Overview
Originally conceived as a detour around the rugged washboard stretch of El Compadre Road, this trail has blossomed into a charming out-and-back route, complete with a delightful loop at its terminus. As you advance, you will encounter a closed gate; a turn to the right will guide you along a lesser-traveled path. Despite the scorching heat and the sparse canopy of grand trees, this trail reveals some of the desert's most enchanting landscapes, adorned with vibrant red shrubs and flourishing flora. You will meander through stretches of soft, sandy terrain and navigate areas dense with cactus, all while basking in the sweeping vistas of the distant Ojos Negros. A narrow passageway, too tight for a jeep to traverse, presents a slight challenge; however, a convenient bypass to the left awaits to guide you onward. At the trail's conclusion, marked by a rustic horse corral, a subtle path to the left emerges, following the fence line and gracefully looping back to the original gate.
