Trail Overview

Starting near El Compadre Road, this trail begins as a well-maintained route, offering a picturesque journey through scenic landscapes. After a few miles, the trail enters areas adorned with pine trees and passes through the Rancho Casa Verde Ranch, a renowned destination for motorsports enthusiasts. From this point, the trail becomes increasingly intriguing and challenging. You will encounter several water crossings, one notably marked by a lake teeming with hundreds of ducks. Following the lake, the trail ascends a very steep, loose rock climb with deep ruts and a mix of rock and sand. This section can be particularly demanding for heavy vehicles like Jeeps or full-size trucks, although some do manage to conquer it. More commonly, you'll see ATVs and motorcycles navigating this part of the trail. After the steep climb, the trail descends through technical, rocky sections. Despite the challenges, there are no areas too narrow for a Jeep or even a full-size truck. Ultimately, the trail leads to a large ranch house and a cutoff where you can turn right to connect with Laguna Hanson Road via the Laguna Hanson to El Compadre Route.

These areas are characterized by sandy surfaces interspersed with loose rocks, large rocky segments, and rain ruts.Despite the difficulty, the trail rewards adventurers with some of the most breathtaking scenery in Baja.
