Trail Overview

Trail 30 is the longest trail in the park, as well as the most complex. We fit a 92" vehicle through the entire track, but there were some areas that were quite tight, and we did get some pinstriping from branches along the way. There were a lot of rock obstacles and climbs throughout this trail. A lot of rough areas did have some bypasses, but not all areas. You should be prepared before doing this trail and recommended to take a buddy to help spot some of the tougher obstacles. Rock climbs and boulders were very frequent on this trail. Some of the lookouts definitely made the trail worth it. Gent's mountain overlook is on this trail, and it is gorgeous and you can see about one hundred miles off. Danger Hill is also located on this trail, with the by-pass being Trail 37. Danger Hill has been around for a lot of years and has constantly changed. Every time a good rain comes, it makes the tracks worse, and more difficult. The very center of the mountain trail is completely impassable and is the location that the hill got its name from. The best way to overcome this obstacle is to take your time and look ahead at the challenges on the route you take, you may have to back up and go a different route if the ruts get too deep or the trees are too tight. We took the furthest left trail, with some back and forth to the right. There are a couple of trees down over different areas of the hill that you will need to work around as well.

Difficulty

Some areas of this trail are decent and not as hard to get through, but the majority of this trail has very difficult rock obstacles. Danger Hill is one of those obstacles, which can be very dangerous depending on the vehicle you are driving, and if it is wet or dry. There are around a dozen rock climbs along this route.
