Trail Overview
Red Wasp Canyon features a long uphill V-notch style climb with slick red clay throughout. With the canopy of trees, the abundant leaf litter will do you no favors in the traction department, so don't bank on that! Red Wasp Canyon starts with a basic hill climb in the middle before you drop off into the canyon, and are forced to make a hard 90-degree uphill and to the left. This follows up the trail that features scattered limbs, logs, and exposed tree roots.

Difficulty
Steep grades and deep ruts from swift water run off cut out the side of the mountain on the second half that connects to Runway. The first half of the trail up to Daddy Bill Hill from Los Primos Main Access is easier in difficulty in the 4 range as it only features a slightly off camber hill climb.
History
Red Wasp Canyon got its name from a large swarm that attacked park owners when clearing the trail.
