Trail Overview

This is a maintained gravel road that can have some mud when wet and possible water crossings depending on the weather. This trail takes you along beautiful views, creeks, and possible wildlife sightings. This trail passes Crystal Recreation Area. Not to be confused with Crystal Springs State Park this is a primitive campground. This small but secluded campground offers 9 campsites situated alongside Montgomery Creek and is a quiet and peaceful alternative to some of the more popular and crowded campgrounds in the Ouachitas. Aside from the 9 primitive camping units, the area also offers picnic tables, a picnic shelter, and a vault toilet, plus opportunities for hiking, swimming, and fishing. As you continue the trail passing plenty of creek views and curves, the trail will end at a nice dispersed campsite.
