Trail Overview
Petit Jean Road is a natural surface gravel and dirt road. Some embedded large rocks can cause a rough ride along this road. There are dispersed campsites along Petit Jean Road. One side (EAST) of this road is the Dry Creek Wilderness area and special rules apply when entering this wilderness area. The road itself is in the Ouachita National forest. North Petit Jean Mountain at 1690 FT is along this road. There are hiking areas in the area. Some dirt sections can be very dusty while dry and muddy after rain. Wildlife and nature viewing are enjoyable along this road.
