Trail Overview
Sims Fiddler Creek 274 is a popular area for hikers who are going to tackle the Ouachita Recreational Trail. It's an easy gravel road but there are water crossings of at least a foot or more depending on the time of year. There are several campsites along the way along with beautiful scenic views of the valley. Do be mindful of hikers and mountain bikers who may be on this road due to the ORT. This road sits at an elevation of around 1300 feet and winds through the ridges of the ONF. Camping is dispersed with no restrooms or potable water. If you consume the water it needs to be filtered or boiled. In many of my postings for the ONF I do not suggest summer months for exploring as several factors make it unbearable. 1. ticks 2. humidity 3. cotton mouth snakes near creeks 4. rattlesnakes 5. the bugs. None of these is an issue during later fall through spring.

Difficulty
Due to high water levels and water crossings, I wouldn't suggest a car to drive through this area. Otherwise, this is an easy gravel road.
