Trail Overview
Bear Lake is a great place to camp or fish located near lake Tahoe. The road to get to Bear Lake has many places to pull off with amazing views. You can get to Bear Lake from 2 directions. The easiest way is from Barker Pass and follow the bumpy dirt road down to the lake. Going from Barker the road is passable with an SUV or Van. The second way is to come in from McKinney Rubicon Springs Road and head up to the lake. The McKinney Rubicon Road is a bit much for most stock SUVs or vans however and can be done with the right effort.
