Trail Overview

This is the first of two parts that take you from the Glass Creek Campground to the Mammoth Mountain Main Lodge. This route is entirely off-pavement and on legal trails. The majority of the route is double-wide hard-pack forest trails. They wander through the forest and have many sweeping S-curves, some short soft climbs, and a few whoops here and there. 4-wheel drive is not really required assuming you have enough speed to make it up the short soft uphill sections. This part of the route stays on the western edge of the forest trails and ends at a sharp right turn onto FS 3s106. It is a little less than 8 miles from the Glass Creek Campground.
