Easy: The road narrows to one lane in places with a few mildly steep descents and climbs. Suitable for any stock SUV; however, 4-wheel-drive may be needed when road is wet. Snow possible at higher elevations in winter.

Trail is not that bad. Some steep hills, one vehicle sections but overall pretty easy. We passed a stock minivan in the middle of the trail, so most cars will be OK.

This trail is now fully open. I took it from east to west which means I ended at the Old Road. This road has clearly been graded lately, so there are very few ruts and no obstacles. The picture was taken at the end of the trail at the Old Road of me airing back up.

Access Description

From Interstate 5 just south of Gorman and east of the Hungry Valley SVRA, head east on Highway 138 about 4.2 miles past Quail Lake. Turn right and head south on Old Ridge Route. After 2.2 miles, continue straight on deteriorating paved road. Just after sign for Angeles N.F. boundary in another 3 miles, turn left on 7N23.
