Trail Overview

The east side of the Rubicon provides nonstop challenges and extreme fun. Water can play a bigger role where the trail meanders along the volatile Rubicon River. You'll pass through Rubicon Springs Campground at no charge unless you stop to camp or use facilities. Just when you think everything is over, you're confronted by daunting Cadillac Hill and many more miles of rough road.

Difficulty

Difficult: Named obstacles include Big Sluice and Cadillac Hill. These boulder obstacle courses are extremely difficult and have no bypasses. Wider vehicles beware. High water can make conditions impassable along the Rubicon River during all but the driest times. Best when trail is dusty.
