Trail Overview
This trail kicks off from the Sacotone Lookout Jeep Trail, which has more steep transitions, fun boulders, and obstacles than this route. It begins wide enough for an ATV but narrows to a single track before too long. It primarily consists of long sections of deep ruts with jumping cacti close by trying to snag your riding pants. Then there are some longer loose sandy sections before it joins up with some other trails in the area. At the top of the hill, it follows the main ridgeline featuring outstanding views no matter which side you look down. There are also plenty of lumpy granite boulders to try and make out animal shapes from as you cruise along. The desert flowers are kicking off in the springtime, and the temperature is perfect. There are three bars of epic 5G Verizon cell service where it links up with the next trail. You could continue deeper into the hills from the end of the route or head back to the main road. The choice is yours.
