Trail Overview

The beginning of the trail runs through the Morongo Indian Reservation. They have fenced-off areas with no trespassing signs posted, however the trail runs outside of those restricted areas. The first mile or so of the trail was really rutted out. Several spots took some careful tire placement and slow going to avoid falling into the large ruts. The rest of the trail is easy, mostly forest service road. There are sandy areas, but most of the trail is hard-packed. There are many narrow spots that will give you some pinstripes. If you travel from bottom to top like I did there is a split to 3S09, this can be combined to form a loop of 3S08 and 3S09. Overall, a fun trail with great views.

Difficulty

If the bottom mile or so is run that is the most difficult section. There are several off-camber sections with large washed-out ruts. Tire placement is key to getting by. There are a couple of small water crossings that could be difficult in spring with snow melt.
