8501

Trail Overview

Trail 8501 starts from the intersection with 8501F near the dirt road 8502C. It side hills across the side of the mountain on a narrow dirt trail with loose small rocks. It has several steep downhills with tight turns with a couple of small rock ledges and roots creating some added difficulty. There is a big steep uphill with several rocks in the trail that brings you up to the intersection with 8503 on the right, but you can continue this trail to the left. It side hills and climbs up to a knoll overlooking the highway. The connection between trails 8501 and 8502A is at the end of road BLM Route 8502, and the 8502A single track starts right away on your right but is easy to miss.
