Trail Overview
Heading north from the popular Dumont Lake area, this train offers beautiful views of Rabbit Ears Peak and Lake Dumont from high on the mountain side. The majority of the terrain is easy to traverse, but sections of rock and rut make an SUV or high-clearance 4x4 necessary. The trail offers several dispersed camping sites with gorgeous views. It terminates at a spacious turn-around and intersects with the Continental Divide Trail. This is a single-lane trail, but offers plenty of places to pass. There are a couple of tight sections, however, that could require ~100 yards of backing before oncoming traffic can pass.
