The Rainbow Falls area is a perfect destination for off-highway vehicle (OHV) enthusiasts and four-wheel drive adventurers, offering an extensive network of roads and trails specifically designed for vehicles 50 inches in width or less. These trails connect seamlessly with the expansive North Rampart Range OHV riding area, managed by the South Platte Ranger District. Riders can explore a variety of terrains and enjoy the freedom these trails offer.OHVs are prohibited around camping or parking areas except when riding directly to or from the trails. While exploring, remember that drinking water is not readily available, and water from streams should be treated before use. A double vault toilet is available at the Rainbow Falls Trailhead/parking area for your convenience. Dispersed camping is allowed, with vehicle parking restricted to areas immediately adjacent to system roads.The Rainbow Falls area is a shared space that welcomes all types of outdoor enthusiasts. Visitors are encouraged to be courteous and respect the natural surroundings and fellow outdoor adventurers. It is a fun area with corkscrew-high banks, tricky narrow sections, and beautiful scenery. There is a large staging area at the trailhead.

Moderate. Some easy stretches, but mostly moderate. Steep and narrow with unexpected washouts possible. Not recommended for large SUVs. Side trails can be quite difficult.

Access Description

From Woodland Park, head north on Highway 67 about 10 miles. One-half mile after mile marker 87, turn right on Rainbow Falls Road, County Road 49. Drive in 1 1/4 mile to signed parking area on right.
