Trail Overview
This is the main North-South Trail running through Picayune State Forest & Wildlife Management Area. Access the trailhead by taking Immokalee Road to Oil Well Road, then turn and Everglades Boulevard and head South. This will cross over I-75 and enter directly into the State Forest and the trailhead.

Difficulty
This seriously could be a 1 or 2, but the descriptions of the conditions match that of a three, minus the absence of step ledges or grades. Even in the dry season, there are some deep water holes with soft bottoms, that could stick low clearance or two-wheel drive vehicles. By-passes at some of these are through soft, sticky muddy areas that are deeply rutted. Most of those have no winch or anchor points for recovery if you drop off into the by-pass and get stuck.
History
This is part of the Everglades reclamation and restoration area. This once was a platted residential area that has been purchased by the State for the Everglades wetlands reclamation. Some of the trails may have remnants of pavement while most of it has been worn away and reclaimed by sediments and water flow.
