Trail Overview
This trail is located within the Babcock-Webb Wildlife Management Area. The Florida Fish & Wildlife Commission requires a daily use fee of $3 per person or $6 per vehicle. Some exceptions may apply to those holding a current WMA Permit from FWC; check with FWC and download the specific WMA regulations on their website. Once onsite, you must check in at the "Check Station," an iron post next to the information board on the north side of Zemel Road; see a picture of the check station. Remember to tread lightly and to remain on only named or numbered roads/trails. The trailhead for this trail is located off Zemel Road. This is an easy trail and can be a nice scenic ride for one not seeking to challenge equipment limits. The trail leads through upland pinewood flats. The trails are wide enough with minimal tight/narrow areas. During periods open to hunting, be respectful and avoid this trail. During the non-hunting season, there is a good chance of observing some wildlife (e.g., Whitetail Deer, Wild Hogs, Coyotes, Bobcats, Cranes, Storks, Water Birds, Bald Eagles, etc.) or cattle along this trail. The trail is easily accessed in regular street-legal 2WD vehicles.
