Trail Overview
Williamson Cove is an out-and-back branch trail from Hickorynut Gap in the Chattahoochee National Forest in Fannin County, Georgia. These trails are exclusively for full-sized, high-clearance vehicles, with clear signage prohibiting access for SxS and ATVs. The trail is mainly a one-lane trail that is relatively easy to navigate and primarily consists of gravel and dirt. However, a few minor rough patches, washouts, and muddy areas may pose challenges. The mud y conditions and washouts can deteriorate during wet seasons or following rainfall. Additi ally, a few small water features can be found just off the trail. Certain sections of the trail are pretty narrow, featuring a significant drop-off on one side; therefore, it is essential to exercise extra caution,n and some trail rash is expected. A spacious turnaround can accommodate several vehicles at the end of the trail. Since it is not heavily trafficked, preparing adequately before your visit is advisable, as there are no bathrooms or gas stations nearby, and cell phone coverage can be sporadic. The completion time refers to the total duration of the round trip, which starts and ends at Hickorynut Gap.
