Difficulty
Boise National Forest's Barber Flat is a short pass that connects two scenic river valleys. It is a moderately steep, single-vehicle trail that rewards you with wonderful river views on both sides. On the North Fork side, there are a few switchbacks and plenty of camping areas. The Middle Fork side offers smaller camping spots along the river, but big views looking into the valley below. The road is fairly well maintained, and obstacles are small to non-existent, but you may encounter some downed trees and a bit of snow if you arrive too early in the season.
