Trail Overview
This trail is a dispersed campers' and campground lovers' dream. It is an easy, well-maintained gravel and dirt trail that ends at Bull Trout Lake. There is an official campground at the lake and about 15 campsites scattered in the trees, each with private access to the lake. There are two more campsite loops and a horse camping area. This shorter trail has access to 3 hiking trails, Kirkham Ridge Trailhead, Warm Springs Trailhead, and Cape Horn Summit Trailhead. If you're looking for dispersed camping, don't worry; you will indeed find it here. Several smaller lakes have many open campsites with rock fire rings, fishing, and Paddleboarding. Then there are the numerous offshoots in the trees with yet more dispersed campsites; these can be found almost immediately upon beginning the trail and most of the way to the end just before the horse camping and Bull Lake campground. It's a beautiful area with excellent views. There will be no winter maintenance. And be mindful of fire danger depending on the time of year you are traveling. There is no cellular service through T-Mobile over here.
